Behind the scene

     The film was made as a communtity effort involving pupils of all ages and their parents from many schools.The sets and furnishings were created in the workshops of Brigshaw Comprehensive School and were based on the illustration in the French edition of Lancaster's book. Sewing circles of parents, working to photocopied designs which were provided created the costumes of the pupils. The agreement being that if you had the right costume you were 'in the film'. The film was privately funded
